Research Verticals

As DRDO funded Centre of Excellence, DIA-CoE MZU will conduct scientific investigations and technology developments through directed research aimed at solutions for critical and futuristic defence and security problems. Based on present needs and opportunities available, research verticals are identified as:

Vertical 1: Management of Agro-bio resources

  1. Documentation and app based information of wild edible fruits & vegetables for ready reference of Armed Forces patrolling in the jungles of NE India.
  2. RTE nutritional food using agro bio resources of NE India, for Armed Forces as well as general public

Vertical 2: Environment & waste management

  1. Analysis of water quality of NE India and remediation
  2. Biogas generation of environment waste (MSW)
  3. Management of agricultural waste

Vertical 3: Post-harvest management

  1. Development of formulations for edible coatings for fruits & vegetables
  2. Herbal fumigants

Vertical 4: MEMS based Sensor for specific applications

  1. Ultrasonic sensors
  2. Vibrating beam Accelerometer for Early Earthquake Warning System
  3. Piezoresistive and MOSFET embedded pressure sensors for high temperature applications
