Outreach Activity
1. National Workshop-Cum-Orientation Program for Researches (2021) had been conducted during 17-19 February, 2021 (Workshop) in online mode. It was inaugurated by Secretary DD R&D and Chairman DRDO Dr. G Satheesh Reddy in virtual mode. The objectives of the workshop is to orient the Researchers and Faculty members of the North East Region to understand the furturistic research and to generate interest in areas relevant to armed forces with a vision to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat policy of GOI.

2. National Workshop- cum- Project Evaluation Meeting had been conducted 5-6 May, 2023 at DIA-CoE, Mizoram University. The workshop aims to facilitate the faculties/researchers to understand the futuristic technological requirements of DRDO under directed collaborative research in the identified research verticals of DIA-CoE and Faculties/Researchers are given suitable platform to present their concept proposals.

3. 3rd National Workshop on Innovative Technologies: DRDO-Academia Partnership Towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ was organized at Mizoram Univsersity on October 6, 2025. Conducted as part of the DIA-CoE’s outreach activities and in full collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) headquarters in New Delhi, the workshop aimed to strengthen the partnership between DRDO and academic institutions with a focus on technology development and nation-building aligned with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision under the ‘Act East Policy.’ The hybrid-mode workshop prioritized physical interaction, drawing participants from six North Eastern states and over 25 academic institutions. The workshop concluded with a panel discussion facilitating interactive dialogue among scientists, academics, and participants, reinforcing the role of technology innovation and collaborative research in achieving a developed and secure India. This event significantly contributed to forging stronger ties between the defense sector and academia, fostering knowledge sharing and future technological advancements. This successful event underscores the DIA-CoE’s commitment to advancing DRDO-academia collaboration for the collective goal of national development and security.
